Whispers In The Mansion

A Hidden Wire On The Stairs Revealed Her Secret Enemy

David immediately called his head of security to lock down every exit of the building.

No guest was allowed to leave the penthouse until the police arrived to investigate.

Claire sat down on a soft sofa while Sarah brought her a cold glass of water.

"Thank you for catching me," Claire whispered softly to her red-dressed sister.

"I saw it glinting in the light just as you stepped up," Sarah replied nervously.

David paced back and forth near the marble staircase with his hands in his pockets.

He looked at his stepmother Eleanor, who was standing quietly near the fireplace.

Eleanor had always complained about how the family estate was being split up recently.

She stepped forward with a tight smile on her face and folded her arms defensive.

"Why is everyone looking at me like I did something wrong?" Eleanor asked loudly.

"You were the only person near the stairs ten minutes ago," Sarah stated directly.

"I was just checking on the catering team in the kitchen!" Eleanor yelled back quickly.

David looked at his lawyer who was sitting in the corner reading an old document.

The legal paper outlined the deep inheritance details for the new unborn baby boy.

If Claire gave birth, seventy percent of the vast real estate firm went to her child.

If she did not, Eleanor and her son would keep full control of the vast funds.

"We need to check the security cameras right now," David said in a firm tone.

The guard nodded and walked quickly toward the private office down the long hallway.

Claire held Sarah's hand tight because she felt safe with her sister by her side.

Everyone in the room started whispering about who could be capable of such cruelty.

The police sirens began to echo from the busy city streets down far below them.

David watched Eleanor's hands shake as she tried to sip her champagne quietly.

He knew the truth would come out as soon as the video footage was reviewed.
