The Hidden Adoption Papers

A Wealthy Family Hired A Maid Who Secretly Shared Their Son's Blood

Sarah waited until late that evening when the main house was entirely silent.

The clock in the hallway struck eleven, its deep chime echoing down the dark corridors.

She crept out of her small servant quarter near the back kitchen.

Her soft rubber shoes made no sound as she stepped onto the polished floor.

She needed to find the original legal documents to confirm her wild suspicions.

Sarah slipped into the dark library, closing the heavy wooden door behind her softly.

She used the tiny flashlight on her cheap mobile phone to illuminate the room.

She stepped behind the massive desk where Mr. Sterling kept his private business records.

She opened the top drawer, but it held only golden pens and expensive stationery.

She pulled open the lower filing drawer, which was secured with a small metal lock.

Sarah reached into her uniform pocket and pulled out a thin metal hair clip.

She had learned basic lock-picking years ago from her older brother.

With a faint metallic click, the small lock turned and released the heavy drawer.

Sarah pulled open the drawer and began flipping through the thick manila folders.

She found folders labeled for real estate investments, corporate shares, and tax filings.

Near the very back of the drawer, she found a dark blue folder with no label.

She lifted it out and opened the cover under her small light.

Inside was the original surrender document from the private adoption agency in Ohio.

Her own maiden name, Sarah Jenkins, was printed clearly near the bottom of the page.

Next to it was the name of the adoptive father, Arthur Sterling.

Sarah covered her mouth with her trembling hand to suppress a sudden sob.

Leo was indeed her biological son, taken from her through corrupt legal manipulation.

She remembered how the agency lawyers had lied to her about her rights as a young mother.

They had told her she was unfit and had no legal ground to keep her child.

Now she held the physical proof of their wicked deception in her hands.

Victoria: What do you think you are doing in here?

The bright overhead lights suddenly flashed on, blinding Sarah for a brief moment.

Victoria stood near the door, wearing a silk robe and a furious expression.

Sarah: Mrs. Sterling, I can explain everything.

Victoria: You are searching through my husband's private documents!

Victoria marched across the room and snatched the blue folder out of Sarah's hands.

She looked down at the open paper and her face turned pale with shock.

Victoria: How did you find out about this?

Sarah: He is my son, Victoria.

Victoria: He is a Sterling, and you are nothing but trash!

Victoria pointed her long finger directly toward the library door with cold rage.

Victoria: You will pack your bags and leave this property before sunrise!
