David had unexpectedly returned home two days early from business.
He walked through the grand entrance carrying his leather suitcase.
His flight was canceled due to sudden bad weather conditions.
He looked around the empty living room in confusion.
David: Sarah, where is Victoria and where is my son?
Sarah walked forward into the main marble hallway.
She was holding baby Ethan safely in her arms.
The red bruise was still clearly visible on her cheek.
David noticed the mark on Sarah's face immediately.
His eyebrows furrowed with instant concern and worry.
David: What happened to your cheek, Sarah?
Before Sarah could answer, the front door swung wide open.
Victoria walked inside holding several shiny shopping bags.
She stopped abruptly when she saw her husband standing there.
A look of panic flashed across her fake smiling face.
Victoria: David! I did not expect you home until Thursday night!
David: My meetings were delayed so I flew back early.
David pointed directly at the mark on Sarah's face.
David: Why is Sarah hurt, Victoria?
Victoria quickly adjusted her face and put on a grin.
Victoria: She was clumsy and slipped on the clean floor, darling.
Sarah: That is a complete lie, Mr. Davis!
Victoria glared at Sarah with pure anger in her eyes.
Victoria: How dare you talk back to me in front of my husband!
Sarah stood tall and looked directly into David's eyes.
Sarah: She hurts the atmosphere of this home every time you leave!
David: What are you saying, Sarah?
Sarah: She neglects Ethan and shoves me when I try to care for him!
Victoria dropped her shopping bags onto the marble floor.
Victoria: She is out of her mind, David! Fire her right now!
Sarah: I have the video recording right here in my pocket!
David's expression instantly changed from confusion to stern silence.
He looked at his wife's pale face and then at Sarah.
David: Hand me that flash drive right now, Sarah.
Victoria stepped forward to block David from taking the drive.
Victoria: You cannot listen to a maid over your own wife!
David: Stand back right now, Victoria!
